Ms Hyrkas

My name is Desiree Hyrkas. I am so excited to be teaching at Green! I have been a Media Specialist since 2005 and at Green since 2016. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in German and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science, with a focus on School Library Media.

My hope is to pass on a love of reading and of technology to my students. I believe that students need to be familiar with many different types of technology in order to succeed today. My goal is to introduce students to how technology can be used as a tool to help them in many areas of their lives. It is also my goal to teach information literacy skills. It is important that people evaluate the information they find on the Internet and in books to determine if it is true.
